Dewey in the Morning
1.
Dewey masturbates
while driving his car.
He comes on the floormats,
then pulls into Hinkle's
for coffee and doughnuts.
He eats in his car,
brushes crumbs off his shirt
and tosses crumpled cup and bag
into the unwholesome back seat.
He gets the heebie-jeebies
when he looks back there.
2.
There's a sign
on the bank machine,
"NO ROLLED COINS."
Dewey sighs and dumps
two perfectly rolled
packages of quarters
out of their paper wraps
into the plastic tube.
He sends it into the teller
and toys with the elastic waist
of his pants.
